Some UK entrepreneurs are not fully aware of the different funding options available to them to support their long-term growth, a report has found.

According to a survey from the British Business Bank last year, high growth-potential firms sometimes struggle to obtain the right finance they need to grow to scale.

A poll forming part of the research found that;

  • More than a third, or 36 percent, went directly to their main bank, rather than looking into the many other options of external funding available.
  • Only two percent of the 932 small and medium-sized (SMEs) surveyed said they had looked into their finance options.

Also in the report, a poll by Ipsos MORI, featuring 2,070 SMEs, found that only 47 percent were aware of peer to peer (P2P) lending.

Here at Blue Bull Finance, we offer a range of services, including P2P funding, which is fast and flexible and can potentially support a range of purposes including working capital, new asset purchases, expansion, refurbishment or finance for one-off costs.

P2P funding is rapidly becoming a real alternative to traditional funding. Businesses can(subject to checks) borrow from £10,000 to £500,000 in unsecured loans. In addition most loan applications can be assessed quickly and once approved money can be into your account often within a matter of days.

Other sources of funding we offer that veer away from the traditional banking method include

  • All-Status Lending, suitable for those experiencing difficulties in accessing credit;
  • Invoice finance, which unlocks cash held within invoices, and
  • Credit/Debit card factoring, where repayment is an agreed percentage of your debit and credit card takings, and follows the performance of the business.
